Destin Commons Back-to-School Bash

Friday, August 7 | 4pm – 8pm
Destin Commons

Destin Commons is kicking off the school year with an evening of shopping, entertainment, and family-friendly fun. Families can take advantage of tax-free shopping savings and special discounts from participating retailers while enjoying activities like free cotton candy, face painting, a photo booth, and more.

The celebration will continue into the evening with a movie night on the lawn at 7:30pm, making it the perfect opportunity for families to wrap up back-to-school shopping while enjoying a fun night out together.

Guests can also participate in a check-in giveaway by showing proof of purchase. Shoppers will receive one raffle ticket for every $50 spent for a chance to win prizes including an iPad and AirPods.

Back-to-School Market

Saturday, August 8 | 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
East Pass Coffee Co.

Start your weekend with coffee and shopping local at East Pass Coffee Co.’s Back-to-School Market. This curated market brings together local artists and makers for a morning of browsing handmade goods, unique finds, and community connection.

Visitors can shop a variety of local vendors featuring handmade jewelry, artwork, books, apparel, and more all while enjoying their favorite coffee from East Pass.

Featured vendors include Poetry by Tyler, Mary Ellen Dimauro, Sea Gems by Karrah, Tides & Tales, Terra Handcrafted, and Sunnie Days Apparel.

Homeroom on the Harbor

Saturday, August 8 | 4pm – 7pm
HarborWalk Village

Celebrate the start of the school year with a free family-friendly event at HarborWalk Village. Homeroom on the Harbor combines a fun back-to-school celebration with an opportunity to give back through the Stuff the Bus school supply drive benefiting the Okaloosa County School District.

Families can enjoy an afternoon filled with activities including a bounce house, foam party, face painting, crafts, games, and a DJ dance party on the lawn. The first 50 kids will also receive free back-to-school goodie bags, so families are encouraged to arrive early.

Guests are invited to bring school supplies to help local students start the year prepared. HarborWalk Village will also offer free parking beginning at 2 p.m. on the day of the event.


Blessing of the Backpacks

Sunday, August 9 | 10:30am
Destin Methodist Church

Before the school year begins, students, teachers, school staff, and administrators are invited to gather at Destin Methodist Church for a special Blessing of the Backpacks.

Students of all ages can bring their backpacks to receive a special backpack tag as the community comes together to pray over the upcoming school year. It’s a meaningful opportunity for families to pause, reflect, and start the year surrounded by encouragement and support.

Back-to-School Brunch at Bitterroot

Tuesday, August 11 | 11am
Bitterroot

After school drop-off on the first day of school, celebrate with brunch at Bitterroot. The restaurant is hosting a Back-to-School Brunch featuring bottomless mimosas, live DJ beats, and Mahjong tables. It’s a fun excuse to gather with friends, unwind, and toast to the start of a new school year.

You made it through the first week of school! Celebrate with a little time for yourself.

Join Destin Snapshots, The Local’s Group, and Everbowl for a casual Walk & Talk where you can meet new friends, enjoy meaningful conversation & kick off the school year with connection and community.

We will meet at this beautiful townhome nestled within Henderson Beach Resort and stroll along Scenic 98. After the walk, hang out and enjoy acai bowls from Everbowl!
