Here are some of my favorite places to eat and things to do during bachelorette parties in Destin:
Boat Day to Crab Island
One of the most popular attractions in Destin is Crab Island. While it’s not actually an island anymore, people enjoy anchoring here because of the shallow, crystal clear water. There are tiki boats, such as Cruisin’ Tikis, that can hold large groups and are super fun for a day cruise! You can also rent a pontoon boat (some even include a boat captain if you don’t want to worry about actually driving the boat – especially if everyone plans on drinking). Be sure to keep an eye out for The Coconut Girls and grab a coconut drink or fresh pineapple! Check out this post for more tips about visiting Crab Island. My best piece of advice is to visit at high tide for clear water!
Restaurants in Destin
Whether you’re craving some authentic Italian cuisine, local seafood or a tasty burger, there are a variety of delicious restaurants in Destin. Here are some of Nicole’s Favorites:
- Boshamps (pictured above) offers a casual vibe making it a perfect lunch or dinner option. They have the best appetizers and burgers!
- Marina Cafe (pictured below) offers waterfront dining and an upscale experience. Enjoy a delicious dinner here before a night out on the Harbor.
- McGuire’s Irish Pub. Not only is their food incredible, but the overall experience is fun and lively!
- Harry T’s at HarborWalk Village offers beautiful views and specializes in local seafood. They also have a great brunch served daily!
Bars & Nightlife
While Destin isn’t really known for its nightlife and party scene, there are a handful of places where you can find a lively atmosphere and great drinks.
- The Village of Baytowne Wharf: Village Door features a dance club. You can also stop by Rum Runners piano bar or do a shotski at Fat Tuesdays.
- HarborWalk Village: Nicole says, “All of the best memories I have going out in Destin are at HarborWalk. We love to go upstairs at Tailfins for live music and drinks to start the night and make our way down to AJ’s.
- The Gulf is a fun place to hang out during the day and grab drinks in between the beach and dinner.
Brunch
Whether you’re ready to rise and shine or need some “hair of the dog”, there is no shortage of great brunch restaurants in Destin.
Commelfo: This European-inspired restaurant is very unique and Instagrammable. The brunch menu features delicious items such as Nutella Pancakes, Smoked Salmon Croissant, Shrimp & Grits, Avocado Toast and more.
Black Bear Bread Co. is a staple! The Parisian-style café and bakery has three locations in South Walton (Grand Boulevard, Grayton Beach, and Seaside). With Stumptown Coffee, sandwiches made with fresh sourdough bread, artisan pastries and so much more, this is the perfect spot to get your day started. Highly recommend the almond croissant!
Ruby Slipper has the best Bloody Marys you can find! You can also order a mimosa flight which features several flavors: Blueberry Lavender, Watermelon Pomegranate, Pineapple Peach Bellini, and Blue Orange! Known for their legendary biscuits which are crafted from scratch and baked fresh all day, this brunch hot spot originated in New Orleans. You’ll find Southern favorites like Shrimp & Grits and seasonal beignets on the menu.
More Bachelorette Activities
Destin Pole Parties is another activity that would be perfect before a beach day. They make it super fun and it will get your day going!
Nicole also recommends picking a night to hire a private chef to cook for you inside your home or do private Hibachi after a long day in the sun. Most of the houses in Destin have amazing pools and backyards, so this will give you time to enjoy it more!
Another favorite of hers is the Tipsy Mule Bar cocktail class. This is perfect for a pajama party or first night in!
