In a place as visually driven as Destin, it takes something truly special to make people stop, look, and linger a little longer. That’s exactly what Off the Walls Murals is doing—transforming blank walls into vibrant, story-driven works of art. More than just eye-catching backdrops, these murals are helping shape the visual identity of local businesses while creating meaningful, memorable moments for the community.
If you’ve ever walked through HarborWalk Village, spotted that stunning underwater mural at the convention center, or stopped at Coastal Protein and thought “wait, who painted this?” — I have answers for you.

The Artists Behind Off the Walls Murals in Destin
Meet Caroline Holland and Tianna Kuwica, the duo behind Off the Walls Murals. They met at a pool in 2021, became fast friends, and almost immediately decided to start a business together.
Caroline was a commissioned painter and muralist, and Tianna was a graphic designer, so combining their strengths was an easy call. What followed is one of the Emerald Coast’s most recognizable creative businesses, known for murals that feel both intentional and deeply personal.

Where to Find Off the Walls Murals in Destin
While many of their murals live in private spaces like vacation rentals, there are plenty of public spots around Destin where you can see their work firsthand. Consider this your local mural tour:
Coastal Protein — A personal favorite. The owner is incredible, the space is adorable, and their protein waffles and fresh-off-the-press protein donuts are worth the stop on their own. You can also get your caffeine fix with protein coffee and teas.
HarborWalk Village — They have several pieces throughout, including the parking garage, elevator entries, Margaritaville, and Azul.
Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center — Look for the underwater branded mural out front, plus their work at Veterans Memorial Park.
Little Adventures — Catch their signs at Beasley Park and Okaloosa Island Beach Access #6.
If you’re out exploring Destin, keep your eyes open. Chances are you’ll stumble across one of their colorful, photo-worthy creations when you least expect it!

Why Instagrammable Murals are a Must for Destin Businesses
Murals do more than fill a blank wall. They can completely transform how a space feels and functions. Across Destin, Off the Walls Murals has helped local businesses create environments that feel more inviting, inspiring, and memorable.
One of the things I personally love most about murals is how they can transform a space into something not just beautiful, but shareable. In a location like Destin, where aesthetics play such a big role in tourism and local culture, murals naturally become photo-worthy backdrops. They invite people to pause, snap a picture, and engage with a space in a fun, memorable way.
For businesses, that translates into organic exposure across platforms like Instagram and TikTok. For photographers and content creators, it adds color, personality, and a strong sense of place to every shot.
In many ways, murals have become a modern marketing tool—one that feels authentic, creative, and deeply rooted in the community.

The Destin Murals With a Story Worth Stopping For
Some of their most powerful work goes beyond branding entirely.
One of their most meaningful local projects is a tribute mural at HarborWalk Village for Jeremy Carmical, a local diver who went missing. The mural was donated anonymously and is packed with details from his life such as his tattoos plus photos of him surfing and fishing.
“It was an emotional and beautiful project,” they said, “and we were honored to be asked.”

Murals That Give Back: Supporting Nonprofits in Destin and Beyond
Caroline and Tianna also make it a point to donate murals to nonprofits every single year. Their partners include Make-A-Wish Foundation, United Way, Mission22, Children in Crisis, Gulf Coast ABLE Academy and more organizations they genuinely care about.
One standout project was with Make-A-Wish Foundation and involved a full room redesign for a little boy named Sawyer. This wasn’t just a mural. They worked alongside contractors and volunteers to create a space that was beautiful and functional for Sawyer, his family, and his nurses. The art was high contrast so that he could actually see the shapes, and they added a large moon light for him to look at. It took an entire community coming together, and the result was stunning. Projects like these are a reminder that murals are more than art. They’re spaces where people feel seen.
They’re also in the process of creating their own non-profit segment called The Space Between, which will raise funds to donate full room transformations to women’s shelters, children’s homes, children’s hospitals, homeless shelters, and safe houses.
Their mission, simply put, is to create art that uplifts and makes a positive impact on people’s lives. They are deeply committed to making a difference and using their talent to create spaces that feel both meaningful and transformative.

That Time They Got Flown to Las Vegas to Paint for the Air Force Thunderbirds
While most of their work can be found locally near Destin, Caroline and Tianna were once brought to Las Vegas to paint a mural for the Air Force Thunderbirds during a friends and family air show. The duo painted right in front of the flight line and watched two practically private shows standing just steps from the jets, adn were invited to a picnic with the team and their families.
“Truly something we will never forget and still pinch ourselves to this day,” they said.
Their dream project? The Blue Angels in nearby Pensacola! Another bucket list item is bringing color and joy to the hallways and rooms of a children’s hospital because if anyone deserves beautiful art to look at, it’s kids who need a reason to smile.
