7 New Businesses To Check Out Near Destin

I love seeing new spots pop up around town, especially when they’re locally owned and bringing something fresh to the area. From cute coffee shops to beautiful boutiques, our community is full of passionate small business owners offering unique experiences for both residents and visitors. In this post, I’m excited to share seven new businesses that have opened their doors in 2025. We are loving these restaurants and stores near Destin!

Sandos Beachside Cafe & Bar

Located across from the beach on Scenic Highway 98, Sandos Beachside Cafe & Bar serves coffee and sandwiches in the cafe downstairs and offers tiki vibes upstairs with tropical cocktails. Whether you’re stopping for an iced cookie butter latte on your beachy bike ride or want to get the party started with a refreshing Mai Tai, Sandos will be your new favorite hangout spot!

Ekko

Founded in 2013 on a tropical island in Sri Lanka, this family owned business just opened their first US location and it’s right here in Destin! EKKO is located in Destin Commons and focuses on sustainable, ethical, and effortlessly elegant clothing for men and women. Their collections blend premium quality with conscious craftsmanship to create sophisticated styles that are perfect for our coastal lifestyle. From light linen fabrics and tropical patterns to natural raffia handbags and baskets, these timeless pieces are must-haves!

The Gulf Club

Your new favorite spot to watch sports in Destin! The Gulf Club Restaurant and Sports Pub offers wall-to-wall HD TVs, so you’ll never miss a moment of the action. Make yourself comfortable in the stadium-style seats, grab a booth with its own TV, or pull up a chair at the bar where you’ll find over 27 beers on tap. Hungry? The menu features elevated pub fare such as Korean corndogs, unique (or classic) pizzas, Cajun smoked tuna dip, and more. The Sand Flea Beach Bar

Located within Sandpiper Cove, The Sand Flea is a waterfront restaurant that offers tasty bites, cold drinks, and stunning views of the Gulf. While this casual spot is open to everyone, it can only be accessed by walking up from the beach as Sandpiper Cove is a gated, private community. Thick Cookie Co.

Calling all cookie lovers! Thick Cookie Co. in Downtown Fort Walton Beach is serving up jumbo-sized gourmet cookies made by hand. The flavors rotate on a monthly basis and feature classic combinations like chocolate chip and unique creations (lemon blueberry, strawberry shortcake, creamy cookie butter, etc.). This isn’t just another Crumbl copycat. These cookies are by far superior and best of all, it’s owned by a sweet local couple that just got engaged!

Beach Weekend Coffee

Also located in Downtown Fort Walton Beach, Beach Weekend Coffee features a modern beach vibe, delicious drinks, and pastries. The large indoor space is perfect for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or grabbing a coffee to fuel your Destin adventures. From classic cold brews and espresso drinks to teas and smoothies, you’ll leave feeling refreshed!

Small Batches Cafe & Collective

Small Batches is a family-owned business in Fort Walton Beach that features coffee, tasty treats, and a marketplace with a variety of local vendors. From vintage clothing and handmade jewelry to fresh flowers and unique art, this retail space offers something for everyone. It’s a welcoming space where the community can gather and support local businesses—what could be better?!
