March is always an exciting month in Destin: it’s the official start of spring, spring breakers start to arrive, and warm weather has finally returned! Event season is starting to pick up, and while there are many activities and weekly happenings geared towards tourists, this post features events in Destin where you’ll find locals as well as visitors. Here are some of our favorite things to do in Destin this month:
March 4: 850 Froyo + Kwench Juice Cafe Grand opening at 4pm. Whether you want some self-serve frozen yogurt with a variety of toppings or a healthy acai bowl, you can now enjoy both at this recently combined location.
March 6: Craft Club at East Pass Coffee Co. Enjoy a fun evening painting Prosecco bottles with Destin artist Marilu Morgan! Limited tickets available, click here to purchase.
March 8: Big Rig Bonanza at Destin Commons from 10am to 2pm. This community event and fundraiser hosted by the Junior League of the Emerald Coast gives families the opportunity to explore a variety of trucks, construction vehicles, city service vehicles, military support vehicles, public safety equipment, and more. Kids can climb inside, meet the drivers, and learn about these impressive vehicles up close. Entrance fee is $5 per child.
March 15: THICK Cookie Co. grand opening at 11am. Calling all cookie lovers! Come celebrate the newest spot to get a sweet treat. Located in downtown Fort Walton Beach, THICK Cookie Co. is a locally owned and operated business serving up a variety of giant cookies.
March 15: Sea Gems by Karrah Pop-up at East Pass Coffee Co. Want to create your own custom charm necklace? Stop by East Pass Coffee Co. and visit the charm bar pop-up!
March 15: St. Patrick’s Day “Darty” at M&P on 30A. This “day party” features green beer, traditional Irish cocktails, and Chef Will’s interpretation of classic Irish fare. DJ Zoran will be playing a mix of Irish tunes and crowd favorites to get everyone dancing! There will also be family-friendly activities like face painting and a bounce house. Sea Gems by Karrah will be there with the custom charm bar and you can make your favorite hats with Hawley Trucker Hat Bar. Click here to buy tickets in advance.
March 16: Mac & Cheese Festival at Destin Commons. This family-friendly event will feature gourmet, chef-inspired twists on the South’s favorite comfort food. Local restaurants will compete for the best mac in town. Be there to sample everything and cast your vote! All proceeds from this event will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, which works in our community to promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence through its programs focused on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. $40 for adults and $20 for kids (5 – 16 years old).
March 29: Harbor in Bloom at HarborWalk Village. This vibrant, floral-filled event celebrates the beginning of the 2025 Farmers Market Series at HarborWalk Village. Stop by for a day of fresh local flavors, art, and entertainment. The event features live music, a craft station, scavenger hunt, face painting, bubbles, Local Artist Walk and more. Come welcome spring and celebrate the creative talent that makes our community so special!
March 30: Destin Commons Market from 11am to 4:30pm. On the last Sunday of every month, Destin Commons hosts a market with a variety of vendors selling one-of-a-kind products, fresh produce, handmade items, artwork, home decor, collectible trinkets, sweets, and more.
All month: SeaLight Festival at Seascape Resort. Immerse yourself into a magical world of light and color as you walk through this dazzling display at Seascape Resort. The walk takes about 45 minutes and features hundreds of Chinese lanterns, all handmade by artisans with decades of experience. There are also interactive experiences such as a bounce house, sugar painting and dino ride. It is open Thursday – Sunday from 5pm to 9pm through April 13. Click here for tickets.
